Amazon Kindle, Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire
Today Amazon finally unveiled their new tablet, the Kindle Fire. Based on Android, this device is not Amazon‘s way of giving up on people who like to read to read, but a complement to the existing Kindle devices, intended to take advantage of Amazon‘s growing streaming media library.
The Kindle Fire is a beautiful color Kindle that can be used for movies, TV shows, music, books, magazines, apps, games, web browsing and more. The Kindle Fire will be sold for only $199.
At the same times as the announcement of Kindle Fire, a new e-book reader called the Kindle Touch was unveiled. It uses the same high-density “pearl” e-ink as the previous Kindles, but now with a touch screen that lets you swipe your finger to to turn the page. It also includes an on-screen keyboard. It cost $149 with Amazon Whispernet mobile connectivity, and only $99 for the Wi-Fi version. The new devices is intended to start shipping on November 21.
Amazon didn’t just unveil two new devices today, but also a third for the fans of the more traditional Kindle. This device lets you change pages with the traditional side buttons. It’s slimmer and lighter, but without the physical keyboard. It will costs only $79, and is available now.
