Since the big launch party for the Nokia Lumia 800 in London at the end of last year, Nokia has been traveling around the world throwing big events for most mayor markets. The launch for the Nokia Lumia 900 in the U.S. seems to be no exception.

AT&T have promised to bring the biggest launch campaign ever for Lumia 900, and both Microsoft and Nokia have hinted for a while that they have something big planned. Today on Twitter a post made by @WPRetailInsider mentioned that on Friday Nokia will take over Times Square for massive Windows Phone launch event. Not many details regarding the event is known at this time, but if previous launch party’s is anything to go by, it is going to be something big.

The event will take place on Friday (March 6th) at 7pm EST, feature live entertainment and a special guest

Nokia hasn’t been shy about its plans to attack the US market head on with a massive marketing campaign, code named “Rolling Thunder.” An example of this is a new website that made it’s entrance this weekend with the address smartphonebetatest.com. Only hinting that it is a Nokia marketing campaign, the site features a countdown clock which counts down to April 6th, as well as a number of videos involving a phone that, even if not pointed out by name, is easy to guess based on “features” that are well known to Apple’s iPhone.

Nokia seems to finally be ready to kickoff their comeback to the US. With the launch of the Lumia 900 on AT&T, the “Rolling Thunder” strategy includes a massive television marketing campaign as well as posters and signs promoting the device. Retail staff and employees of AT&T have received a great deal of training on the device, and it has also been reported that Nokia will pay AT&T $25 million to have the Lumia 900 set as the device for ‘Company Use’. This means that all Front Seller employees could receive the smartphone at no cost.

But first, before all other things, on Friday its time for a party in New York City, Nokia Style! (I really hope the special guest is Deadmau5 since the London event in  December last year was Amazing!)
