LG Electronics (LG) just announced the global roll-out of their new premium IPS7 series monitors. The launch will first start in the Asian markets of Korea and China, including Hong Kong, and other markets are yet to be announced. The monitors feature LG’s own Cinema Screen Design, with an impressively thin 1.2mm bezel for an unobstructed viewing experience, lifelike color consistency, and also a wider viewing angle. This is made possible by using IPS technology developed by LG. The IPS7 series also feature Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) that makes it easy to connect external devices, like smartphones, for viewing content on a larger screen.

LG’s IPS7 expands the user experience, enabling viewers to take full advantage of this content-rich environment.”
The IPS7 monitors use LG’s In-Plane Switching (IPS) panels, rather than conventional Twisted Nematic (TN) technology found in most monitors today. This technology brings advantages in picture quality and color consistency, with more vivid and true-to-life colors compared to traditional solutions. The IPS7 series also produces a very smooth viewing experience, without the blur that often accompanies rapid motion in action scenes, sports and video games. This gives less stress on the eyes for the viewer, even when using the monitor for an extended period of time.
The overall depth of the IPS7 monitors has been reduced to a mere 14.1mm and comes with a streamlined metallic stand, and traditional plastic buttons have been replaced by capacitive touch controls for a sleeker look.
Addressing the need for easier connectivity, LG provides Mobile High-Definition Link technology (MHL), a perfect solution that lets you easily connect mobile devices to the monitor with a single cable to the HDMI input port. The IPS7 series even charges connected mobile devices while users enjoy their favorite content.
Users can play games or watch videos while sitting, standing or lying down without experiencing any color shift or distortion, as IPS panels excel under a wider range of viewing angles when compared to their TN counterpart. A convenient color calibration function is also included to help reproduce the most accurate, lifelike colors.
